HISTORY of COMPOSITE – Beat Engel
Being a passionated Skier, Beat Engel started building aerodynamic Speedskihelmets in 1986. Quickly, those helmets became a success in the international Speedskiing scene, also because Beat is a competitor himself. At the same time, he was working as a commercial diver in Bermuda. Previous to that, he spent his time being a Grand Prix Motorcycle mechanic in summer and a professional Swiss Ski Instructor in winter. In spring 1989 he started building diving helmets with the help of former French Navy Officer Olivier Stefani, who introduced him into the world of deepdiving. Being a diver and a mechanic himself, Beat has developed and produced his own designs of DeepSea Diving Helmets to find the best solutions, compromises and improvements together with divers and mechanics from 12 nations, working in Navies, Armies and private industry. The company COMPOSITE – Beat Engel is certified EURONORM EN 250/0078. Four fine and functional models of Swiss Made DeepSea Diving and Surface helmets are now being produced. |
